The Perfect Place To Stay For Larger Families
My name is Ella. I’m the dog of our blended family of 6. Last summer, with the pandemic restriction to travel, we spent our time visiting our beautiful province. Our biggest challenge last year was to find a place to stay in New Brunswick Canada that could accommodate our large family and was also dog-friendly so that I could tag along. Therefore, our trips could only be day trips. With two adults and four teenage boys, we needed to return home afterward. Larger families, blended or not, encounter the same challenges as we do. We partnered up with some exceptional rental properties in New Brunswick that can accommodate at least six and are dog friendly to help you find that perfect place to stay with your large family or group.

Discovering The Bower Beach Villa in Cap Bimet
Last week we had the chance to spend some time at a magnificent Beach Villa from Bower Hotel and Suites located in Cap Bimet, NB Canada. The ocean view is breathtaking. Before getting into the details of our experience, we feel we need to take you into the fascinating history of this location.
History of Cap Bimet
Cap Bimet is 25 minutes from Moncton, NB in Canada and 10 minutes from the famous touristic town of Shediac. In early 1900, Cap Bimet land became known for the abundant quantities of fish and shellfish. It quickly became a great source of food and income for the inhabitants. The workers and their families would move to Cap Bimet during the fishing season. That was the beginning of the stunning Cap Bimet cottages village.
Mr. Emile Paturel, a local resident, was a pioneer in the New Brunswick seafood harvesting industry. He owned many fishing boats and a lot of gear, and in 1936, he decided to build a fish plant and a more extensive wharf at Cap Bimet. Sadly in 1939, the fish plant burnt down, but Mr. Paturel rebuilt the plant with even more modern equipment, square footage and a restaurant. His project was completed in the mid-1940.
Unfortunately, the fish plant burnt down a second time in November 2007 and was not rebuilt. The only building that was left standing after the fire was the one with the water towers. This last remaining building was remodelled a few years ago into the Beach Villa, where we stayed. Even now, if you go into the basement, you can still see where the water tower was standing. How incredible history is this?
In a few of our pictures, you will also notice the remains of the old pier and where the pipe was bringing fresh water to the water tanks. During our stay, we saw several anglers fishing at the end of the old port. The fish are still very abundant in that area.
Mr. Emile Paturel would be so proud and honoured to see that the famous restaurant across the Beach Villa still uses his name, “Paturel Shorehouse Restaurant.” This restaurant brings locals and visitors worldwide because of its reputation in services and great seafood.
Meet the owner
Thierry LeBoutillier, the Bower Hotel and Suites owner, works closely with Mel, the director manager of the six hotels in the Moncton, Shediac and Cap Bimet locations. They both take great pride in their work to make your experience the most unique and enjoyable. We all felt that we were on a beach resort somewhere in the tropics. The Cap Bimet Beach Villa is genuinely a picturesque location.
One of Thierry’s hotels, the Capitol Robinson, in Moncton, is one of the Top Favorite Canadian Hotels to stay from enRoute Air Canada.
Top reasons to stay at Bower Beach Villa in Cap Bimet
Peaceful
This beach villa is located on the waterfront of the Atlantic Ocean, facing our neighbours, the Prince Edward Island province. The property is private and spacious both inside and out. It can also accommodate up to eight adults and four children. Did I mention, it can also be dog friendly? Speak with Mel, and she will be able to determine with you the best option for your furry family member.
Breathtaking view
Our pictures will speak for themselves. The view was spectacular all day long. In the morning, the tide is remarkably high. You will enjoy having breakfast or a coffee with the sunrise. Around supper, the tide is so low that you can walk along the ocean floor and find treasures from the mother nature of the sea. The view was phenomenal, even on a rainy day.
Close to popular attractions
If you are looking for the perfect place to get away from it all but close enough to visit some of the most popular attractions in Shediac, this retreat is for you. The Beach Villa is now only open during the summer season but might be available year-round in the future. I will discuss more in detail the attractions close to the Villa later.
Accommodations
The sleeping accommodations were excellent. The Villa accommodates up to 8 adults and four children. There are four private rooms, each with a comfortable queen-size bed and one room with two bunk beds. With four teenagers, it was great to have access to the three available bathrooms. My parents even had a private bathroom in the Master suite.
Top amenities Bower Beach Villa has to offer.
This Rental location has so much to offer. Everything you need and beyond to make this experience truly unforgettable.
Fully furnished kitchen
This kitchen is fully furnished with everything you need. There’s even a Keurig, espresso machine and coffee pod and tea just for you. The fridge was also supplied with water bottles. We only had to bring our groceries. And if you don’t like to cook, the Paturel Restaurant is just across the road. There is also a large number of restaurants throughout Shediac within 10 minutes is away.
BBQ and colossal deck looking over the Atlantic Ocen
We had access to a massive BBQ with a full propane tank. My dad loves barbecuing and cooking with my family. He used it for every meal during our stay. We ate most of our dinners on the large table situated on the patio while admiring the view.
Washer and dryer
The Beach Villa has a washer and dryer on the main floor. If you plan on staying for an extended period, a great working washer and dryer is a must, especially with kids.
Fully furnished bathroom
They had plenty of towels for the whole family with shampoo and soap. It was excellent and allowed us to pack light for a family of 6. My Mom enjoyed the huge tub and snuck out away from the children for a full hour to take a long relaxing bath.
Large private inground pool
We had access to a large private pool outside the Villa, with plenty of chairs and two patio sets. The boys, especially Nicholas, spend most of their time in the heated pool.
WIFI and Netflix
Free WIFI was available, but we didn’t use it much. All electronics were only used to unwind before the boys went to bed. However, Nicholas used it in the morning since he was always up very early while everyone was still asleep, including me. The boys enjoyed watching Secret Life Of Pets 2 on the big screen tv in the living room.
Firepit
The four boys enjoyed having a bonfire at night. We all enjoyed sitting by the fire on the waterfront and having delicious Smores to the sound of the waves.

Final toughs
Our experience at the Bower Beach Villa in Cap Bimet was surreal. It was peaceful, and Thierry and Mel were excellent hosts.
