How To Celebrate The Dads In Your Lives For Father’s Day!

Some of these gift ideas in the post are sponsored but all opinions are my own. I only promote companies and products I personally use or believe in.

Dear significant others, this post is for you. My name is Ella, the family dog of a blended family of 6.  We celebrated Mother’s Day not long ago, and now Father’s Day is just around the corner. Did you know that Father’s Day was first celebrated in 1910 and is always on the third Sunday of June? My Mom explained that Father’s Day is a celebration to honor fatherhood, paternal bonds, and their influences throughout our society. This holiday is celebrated almost everywhere in the world. Nowadays, dads play such a critical role in our children’s lives. Talk about something to celebrate!

Evolution of the Father’s role

For such a long time, the father’s influence in a child’s life was seen as minor.  His importance was more defined as the provider of the family. Luckily, in 1970, when the world began to change with the economy and technological advancement, the family structure also changed. As explained by the American Psychology Association, the research suggests that the father plays a significant role in a child’s social and emotional development.  Fathers can also be someone who stepped up to be a stepdad or a role model in a child’s life. My Dad is a father, a stepdad, and a dog-dad. We are so thankful to have him in our life. While searching to find the perfect way to celebrate Father’s Day, don’t forget to include the children or the fur babies. Children are happy to take part in making this day so special.

Blended families can create a challenging situation during this holiday as it sometimes needs to be shared by both parents. Make sure to remind the children to call their father or stepfather on this special day. It is an excellent time to put all your differences aside and help the children celebrate their dads in their life for the child’s sake.

There are so many great ways to celebrate this wonderful day, and most are not expensive, and some are at no cost at all. Here are some great ideas on how to celebrate the dads in your life for Father’s Day.

Celebration ideas

For the car lovers

Our Dad is a big car fanatic. Although we can’t buy him his dream car just yet, here are a few car-related gift ideas that are sure to please any car lover.

Cleaning and detailing

Professionally clean:

There is nothing better than dropping your car to have it professionally cleaned and detailed inside-out. If your Dad loves having the pleasant new car smell and cleanliness but doesn’t have the time to do it, this can be a great gift idea. It is also a great time to get rid of that winter dirt and have a fresh clean to start the summertime.

Product idea

If the Dad in your life prefers to clean the car himself, why not buy cleaning products. One year my Mom and the boys cleaned my Dad’s car as a surprise. He was thrilled with the results.  Car wax, leather conditioner, pressure washer, and new cleaning rags are some popular car products.

For the golf lovers

Membership

Membership can be expensive but worth it for your Dad if he plays golf regularly. This would even be better if others in your family also play golf. How cool would it be to spend some quality time together doing something you all love.

Accessories

For any avid golfer, they can’t get enough tees or golf balls. Maybe some personalized golf apparel could make this day special.

One-round of golf

Buying a gift card for one round of golf can be a better option for golfers who occasionally play. Perfect for those who may not have the time to take advantage of full membership. Also, less expensive.

For BBQ lovers

Fathers are often associated with BBQ. Why not get him a great cookbook or a new set of BBQ utensils. I’m sure he would enjoy that. As a bonus, I’m sure the rest of the family would enjoy it too.

Little gestures

Handmade

Get the kids involved in the celebration. Most Kids love crafting. They enjoy making cards and even more complicated items such as small wooden structures. Check The Best Ideas For Kids’ website. They have 25 handmade father’s day gifts from kids ideas that might be perfect for their Dad.

Here is an original idea for a gift that my Mom especially liked.  Quarto Know Group publishes this journal called: My Father’s Life. This book is a gift from a child to give to their Dad. The father fills in his memories and returns to the child as a keepsake. There are 204 pages with each question in 6 different sections in life (Early childhood, childhood, teenage years, young adulthood, adulthood, and wisdom).

It gives a chance for fathers to reflect on their lives, and at the same time, it leaves a priceless keepsake for the child. You can order this journal on Quarto Know Group. This gift can be suitable for any occasion.
