How To Fit 100% Natural Products Into Your Personal Hygiene Routine!

A review on Green Beaver’s 100% natural and fluoride-free Toothpastes for the whole family.

Cecile the writer

My name is Cecile, and I am a Mom and Stepmom to four teenage boys. My family of 6 and I like to stay active as much as possible and eat healthier food. There are different ways to make sure we all live a healthier lifestyle, and looking more carefully at hygiene and beauty products is one of them. For the past few years, I’ve been looking closely at the ingredients of each product I bring home to my family. I prefer to buy those containing fewer chemicals suitable for the entire family, including our dog Ella.  We recently partnered with Moms Meet (momsmeet.com) to give you an honest review of Green Beaver’s 100% natural and fluoride-free toothpaste

What is Green Beaver

Not knowing or even having heard of the Company Green Beaver before, I researched to find out who they were and what they stood for. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they are a proudly Canadian company founded in 2002 by Karen Clark and her husband Alain Menard.  Karen left her ten-year career as a biochemist in the pesticide industry, and Alain left the pharmaceutical field working as a microbiologist. They did so to pursue their dream to create a safer personal care product line for the whole family.

Karen and Alain were shocked to determine how many chemicals are found in personal and household cleaning products. Therefore, with their knowledge and expertise, they wanted to make a difference in the world and provide 100% natural and sustainable products for everyone.

Green Beaver’s naturapeutic toothpaste is created based on evidence from scientific studies. Health Canada has also approved them to prevent cavities and tooth decay without fluoride. This made me even more excited to try them with my family.

Green Beaver’s naturapeutic toothpastes

Fluoride is a neurotoxin found in soil, water and some foods. It was proven to help reduce tooth decay and cavities. However, too much fluoride can cause several health issues, such as teeth discoloration, thyroid, neurological and cardiovascular problems. This is one of the reasons we teach children not to swallow mouthwash or toothpaste.

Green Beaver’s toothpaste is fluoride-free and made with 100% natural ingredients with no GMO, free of artificial flavours and dyes and without sodium lauryl sulphate. They use birch extract called Xylitol instead of fluoride to prevent cavities, tooth decay and plaque formation.

Our review on the Green Beaver toothpastes

Our whole family tried and tested all of the naturapeutic toothpastes. We asked the four boys to give their reviews based on an emoji scale for each of the five different toothpaste. Frank and I will be sharing our written reviews below.

We received the following five different flavours of 100% natural toothpaste:

  • Kid’s product line:  Bubble Gum and Strawberry
  • Adult product line: Ultra-Whitening Fresh Mint, Natural Green Apple,  Natural Fruity Orange

Boys reviews:

100% natural product from Green Beaver scale

As you can see with their reviews, most flavours were unanimously enjoyed. Even though each of the boys has their taste preferences, they all walked away with a positive experience. When it came time to divide the tubes amongst them, they each received one of their top 2 choices.

Cecile and Frank’s Reviews:

Kid’s Bubble Gum:

Frank and I were not fans of the bubble gum flavour. Even as kids, we both were not fond of bubble gum. However, if you like the taste of classic bubble gum, we believe that you will love this one. There are no artificial flavours, and they use real cherries to create the bubble gum flavour. Perfect for kids and the kid at heart.

Kid’s Strawberry:

I was so surprised by how great this strawberry toothpaste tasted and smelled. No wonder it was Nicholas’s favourite. Made with real strawberries, this will undoubtedly please children. Even Frank enjoyed it, which I wasn’t expecting.

Ultra-Whitening Fresh Mint:

How refreshing! If you like mint, you will definitely enjoy this one. Not only does it taste great, but it is also clinically proven to whiten teeth in just three days of use. This one hit all marks for Frank since he is a big fan of anything with mint. We will need to order more tubes of this flavour as it was also Benjamin and Jacob’s favourite flavour. This is certainly a classic toothpaste flavour that will be loved by many.

Natural Green Apple:

The Green Apple is my second favourite. I love apples, and the flavour was not too overpowering. The four boys all enjoy this flavour. However, Frank did not enjoy this one. He preferred the Fruity Orange.

Natural Fruity Orange:

The Fruity Orange was Frank, and I’s favourite flavour. I can see myself using this one daily and alternating it with the Ultra-Whiting Fresh Mint. This flavour was not overpowering yet was really impressive in its overall fresh taste.

Our Overall review on Green Beaver toothpaste

We were all honestly very pleased with this 100% natural and fluoride-free toothpaste. Even if most of the flavours are fruity, we still found they were all refreshing. The texture and consistency were excellent. The kid’s line was not made from a sweet transparent gel texture like all the other kids’ toothpaste, which is something we really loved. The most important part was that everyone loved how clean their teeth felt afterwards.

Final thoughts

I’m happy to have discovered a safer and more natural product line for my entire family. Overall the toothpaste was a hit for us. From now on, we will be using the Green Beaver toothpaste in our home. There is no good reason not to. Green Beaver’s products are 100% natural, fluoride-free, sustainable and are packaged with recyclable materials from biodegradable ingredients.

Green Beaver is very comparable to most competing brands. They are available in-store at most groceries or pharmacies such as Loblaws, Sobeys, Jean-Coutu, Heath Planet, shopper Drug Mart, IGA and are reasonably priced between $6.99 to $7.99CAN.
